Monday/Tuesday 3/7 and 3/8

Well...starting today i am going to TRY to be better at posting on here.   I quit my job and so I don't have hours at the computer anymore where I'm doing nothing.  And its been kinda nice to take a break from the computer for the last couple days.

I'm just gonna start with yesterday (after I give a small recap of last week), cause that's as far as I can remember back, lol.   I don't think I got all my exercise in last week but i think I figured I got about 6 hours.  I did pretty good with my meals last week except for on Sunday because my Dad fixed a turkey dinner, but I tried to stay within the IR diet limits on carbs.

Monday, 3/7

Exercise--3 and a half hours of intense cleaning, I don't know how much of this to count as exercise, but I definately worked up a sweat and got my heartrate up sweeping, doing laundry, cleaning closets and moving furninture around.  If anyone has any ideas of how long I should count this for, let me know.

30 min WATP walk and kick (carrying the 5 lb weights)

Food:  breakfast:  6oz light and fit yogurt and 1 cup serving of Cheerios with 1/2 cup skim milk (I think this is a good IR choice, 34 g Carbs and 14 g Protein)

          lunch:  turkey meat and cheese

dinner:  I was kinda bad cause it was my neices birthday and I had 2 pieces pizza (with canadian bacon, onions, green pepper) a piece of cake and a small scoop of icecream (i would say like 3 tbl of ice cream)

Tuesday:  3/8

Exercise:  Just got done with:

30min WATP Walk and Kick (with 5lb weights)

20 min DAPT low-intensity cardio

10 min each lower body, upper body, abs and stretching from DAPT

Total:  90 min

Breakfast:  32 oz of water (I wasn't feeling that great when I woke up)

Lunch:  I'm gonna go eat now, think I'm going to have turkey meat and cheese maybe wrapped in a tortilla with mustard.

Snack:  boiled egg and cashews

Dinner:  Not sure yet

Ok...i think that is all.  I hope you all are having a great week!

Ok...I haven't dropped from the face of the earth.

Well, I just wanted to write a quick note on here so that everyone does not think I am gone or not bootcamping

I've just been extremely busy the last few days, especially at work where I do most of my posting.  Today is my last day at this job so i don't know for sure that it will get better before it gets worse.

I will try to do better on posting on here though, probably start up again on Monday.

To all of my fellow bootcampers that might read this, I hope you are having a great week!

Tuesday, 3/1

Wow, I can't believe it is March already!  The last month just flew by!

I ended up not exercising last night, I was soooo tired when I got home.  I only got 4 hours of sleep yesterday between my shifts so I needed some sleep.  But I think I made up for it today!

Exercise today:  I did the WATP walk and kick twice because I could not find the remote to the DVD player (which I needed to change the intensity for DAPT).  The first time I did the WATP normally, the second time through I held 5lb weights in each arm during the whole video. Then I did the 2 mi WATP video and then what I could remember of the DAPT upper, lower, and abs training.

Total: 125 minutes!

I have found that my favorite thing of the day now is taking a shower after a good workout and drying off, it is just so refreshing to me for some reason. It is a good motivator, the sweatier I am before the shower, the more refreshed I feel afterward.

I think that I have decided to change my eating plan some.  I am going to continue to do the no carbs for the rest of the month except for one meal of the day where I will use the IR diet principles.  I am feeling kindof deprived because EVERYONE around me is eating whatever they want.  Last time I did the SBD induction I had DH doing it with me.  Now we are living with my parents and I don't have much control over what the eating habits are in the house .  When I start to feel deprived I start to really cheat on my diet until I give up completely and I DON"T want to do that, so I'm going to modify it a little bit.  So here is what I ate today:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, scrambled, with 2 slices canadian bacon and about 1/4 cup shredded LF cheese.

Snack:  5 cashews and some SF jello with free whipped cream

Dinner (no lunch, was not hungry at all!)--I made fajitas, so I had 2 tortillas (26g C) with slices of grilled chicken, sauteed green peppers and onions, 2oz LF cheese, 2 tbs sour cream, about 2 tbls mexican rice (If I figured out the serving right 5g C) and about 1/4 cup salsa.  I'm not sure what the protein count was but I'm sure it was high enough to balance the carbs.  If anyone on the IR diet reads this, let me know what you think, please.  Thanks!

Snack: More SF jello with free whipped cream

I've drank my quota of water today and more.

I'm soooo tired, but I guess I should get back to work.  yuck.

Monday, 2/28 Week 2!

  • Mood: Sleepy

I don't have much time to post before I leave work so I am just going to write a little bit.

Breakfast:  Boiled egg, 1oz cheese with mustard, 2 skinless chicken legs (more of a dinner than a breakfast because of my work schedule

Snack:  10 Cashews

Lunch:  1 Grilled chicken breast and small salad with SF ceasar dressing

            2 broiled fillets of fish

Snack:  3 SF Jolly Rancher candies and 1 SF chocolate

Dinner:  Not sure if I will have dinner...I get off work in an hour and want to go home and go to bed (after I exercise!)

Exercise for today:

I'm planning on going home and doing the 30 min WATP Walk and Kick

and 10 min each of upper body, lower body, abs and stretching from DAPT.

Total (Hopefully!):  70 minutes

I'm excited about week two.  I posted on the SC thread that I am thinking of changing my diet plan to more of the IR diet.  I am going to do some research on it this week and maybe switch next Monday.  I just think it might work better for me.  If anyone has any suggestions, i would gladly take them.

The weekend 2/26-2/27

Well, I am back from my weekend and back at work, yuck.  I had a great time, but I am ready to get back to bootcampin'.

I don't know that I will even try to write down everything that I ate this weekend...it was a lot .  But I am ready to go back on the SBD now and get back on track.

I didn't get as much exercise as I'd wanted to this weekend either.  It was hard being away somewhere and with other people.  But here is what I did:

Saturday: about a 30 minute walk outside around the lake

Sunday:  10 min each upper and lower body strength training.

I'm working midnights right now and I work again tomorrow afternoon, but I am still going to try to fit exercise in there somewhere, even if it isn't until 11:30 tomorrow night when I get off work.

Tonight, for a snack, I brought:

1 boiled egg and 1 cup sugar free jello with free whipped cream

One positive thing about the weekend, I did get in all my water intake for each day.

I can't wait to weigh in tomorrow and check my measurements.

Well, I guess i"m gonna go read everyone else's journals and see how you all are doing!

Friday Feb. 25th!

  • Mood: Excited

Well, I just got done with my workout and lunch so I thought I would post here for so far today.  I won't be able to be on and post until Sunday night when I am at work.  So to all my fellow bootcampers that read this, have a great weekend!!

Breakfast:  1 boiled egg and 2 slices of canadian bacon

Lunch:  2 scrambled eggs with 1 oz cheese (eggs are sounding really good to me today!)

            2 slices canadian bacon

            1/4 cup low-fat cottage cheese

I made some sugar free strawberry jello so I will prolly have that with a little dollop of free whipped cream.

Snack (before I go to my weekend to hopefully take away some of my appetite):  1oz string cheese with slice of deli meat around it and 12-15 cashews.

Workout so far today:  45 min 3mi WATP for abs

20 min cardio (low intensity) from DAPT

10 min each upper, lower body, abs and stretching from DAPT

Total workout time today:  105 minutes!  Yay!

Oh, I always forget to put my water intake on here, I've drank 50 oz so far this morning, will get the rest tonight!

Now I have to go pack for my weekend and finish some laundry (yuck!) and still go to the grocery store to get the food we are bringing, so I better sign off with this.

February 24th

Well, I thought I would get on and post some more about the 23rd as well as the 24th.  Yesterday was crazy busy!

I am so proud of myself that I did not give in to the cinnamon rolls the whole time I was at work!  Yay!  That is an accomplishment for me.  I did end up having a little bit of the chili, I would say maybe a third of it.  I sent the rest home with DH.

For Feb 24th.  It was a pretty good day.  I ended up going shopping with my sister and hit some really good sales.  So that was fun.  I did cheat just a little on my diet when we went out for lunch.  But I think I did pretty good considering what was in front of me.  So, here is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast:  2oz cheese with mustard

Lunch:  A few tortilla chips with salsa (I would say about 15 chips and 1/3 cup salsa).  And we had fajitas for 2, but I just had the meat and veggies and cheese and sour cream.  So I think I did ok.

Snack:  Cheese stick

I didn't have any dinner because I was still really full from lunch.

Managed to fit my workout in yesterday.  I did:

30 WATP Walk and Kick (I'm really liking this video)

20 min DAPT cardio (getting better at this video)

And I guess I could count some of my walking around to shop since we were walking around for I would say about 3 hours.

I feel bad that I cheated a little bit.  Really bad actually.  I'm going to eat really good today and try to fit in a bunch of exercise today so that I will be ready for my weekend.

Hope everyone had a good day!

February 23, 2005 Take away the cinnamon rolls!

  • Mood: Sleepy

Well, today has been a good day so far, considering i've slept through most of it, lol.

The bad people at work this morning brought in cinnamon rolls to our meeting which I just love cinnamon rolls, they are probably my favorite thing in the world!  But, you know what kept me from having one? I knew i would be going to bed when i got home and I didn't want to break my contract for eating one before I went to bed.  I was very proud of myself.

Now I came to work this afternoon (can we say tired??) and there are the leftover ones in the kitchen.  I'm just going to have to stay out of there.  I'll update later if I succeed...I will succeed!!

I thought I would not work out today but when I got home from my meeting this morning, I found I could not go to sleep, very frustrating!  So I did about 20 min of upper and lower body workout with weights until I was sleepy enough to actually sleep!

Meals for today:

Breakfast: Just had a boiled egg and 1 oz of cheese

Lunch/Dinner:  DH is bringing me dinner (yay!) and I am having a hamburger (just the burger, no bun) and a bowl of chili from Wendy's.  Well, I was going to have the chili, but I just looked on the Wendy's website to see how many carbs are in it..and there is like 37! So...I guess I will be sending that home with DH.

Snack:  If I'm feeling hungry, I brought a few cashews to work to have.

I'm doing good on water today.  I've had about 60 oz already and I'll probably have another 50 while I'm here at work.

I'm still feeling great motivationally.  I'm hoping it keeps up.  I know I'll have bad days so I'm trying to keep pysching myself up.

This weekend is one time that I get to cheat on my carbs, as stated in my contract.  I'm looking forward to it of course, but I think that I will be more conscious while I am away.  I don't want to undo all the good I've done this week.  We are going to a cabin with two other couples and each of us are responsible for one of the big meals, so I'm going to try to keep my meal low-carb but still satisfying for the rest of them.  The snacking part will be the hardest part to control, but I know you ladies will be reading what I eat so that will help.

Gotta go, may post later.

February 22, 2005

Well today has been a messed up schedule day! I worked midnights last night and came home from work and was getting ready to go to bed. I was looking through my purse for a coupon for my sister when i found an appt card for my doctor, for yesterday! I had totally forgotton. So I called and made an appt with her today. So I didn't end up going to bed until about 3 this afternoon.

BUT, I did get my exercise in. Here's what I did today:

30 min. WATP Walk and Kick video
10 min each of upper body, lower body, and abs with DAPT.

So, 60 minutes today!

Meals:

Breakfast (which I ate at 10 when I woke up tonight to go to work): 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese

Snack: 12 cashews

Lunch (prolly around 3am this morning): Salad with turkey, egg, cheese, green peppers and 2 tbs low-fat/no sugar dressing. 3/4 cup Sugar free pudding.

Snack: 1 oz String cheese

And I probably won't have any dinner because I will want to go home and go straight to bed from work.

Tomorrow will be my rest day from working out because of my work schedule. I work tonight midnights until 8am and then of course they had to schedule an hour long meeting after that. Then I will go home and sleep because I have to be back at work at 4:30 in the afternoon.

Today I felt good and motivated again! Although I was a little more tired then yesterday. I think that I may need to find a more beginner abs video/dvd because the one on DAPT, even on the low intensity, is too hard for me to do. I try to keep up, but I can't do a lot of it. I think because it is very hard for me to do, I'm not doing the exercises right and it is straining my back. She keeps saying in the video, make sure your back is not arched, but my abs don't have the strength to do everything she is doing, lol!

Guess that is all for me right now. Getting ready for day 3!

A few more things...2/21

  • Mood:

I'm at work now (all night) chomping on my evening snack of celery sticks and cashews.  They are actually kinda yummy together.  Strange...

Anyways,  wanted to add that my water intake for today was about 51oz so far and I will probably drink another 50 oz or so while I am at work.

I looked at everyone's journals and it sounds like everyone had such a good day!  We can do this!! I can do this!  I'm incredibly motivated which is weird for me at the end of day one on a diet, I'm usually ready to give up and just be glad I got in one day.  It really helps to have the support of others and know that you will be watching what I do!

I did get some bad news today, my liver enzymes are still up really high.  88 and 72 when they are supposed to be around 30-40.  I don't know what else to do? I'm getting so frustrated with my body.  And I still have to stay off of the met which I know was helping control my appetite and helping me ovulate with the clomid.  When I got the news, I felt really bad and angry at my body which made me want to delve into the oreos that my parents had bought (we are living with my parents right now and they do most of the grocery shopping).  But I resisted!! I had a cheestick for my snack instead and talked to my husband for a couple minutes.  I'm hoping this 12 week challenge will help the liver enzymes somehow.  I just wish they could tell me what it is that I am doing wrong! Grrr..

This afternoon I also had a little bit more of a workout.  I built some snowmen with my 2 nieces.  It was so much fun!  I know this bootcamp will help me be a healthier person and when I have my own kids I will be able to play with them so much more!

On to day 2 of bootcamp!
